Wellness Month

Wellness Month

We had a Wellness Month last December where pupils from all classes reflected on positive things in their lives as part of their homework.  Each class reduced written homework and in its place children reflected on their day in their gratitude journals. Other classes were encouraged to chat with the family at home as part of the month. This led to open family discussions around questions like;

  • What makes us happy?
  • What did we do well today?
  • How were we kind today?

As well as this, each class had an ‘Advent Act of Kindness’ calendar, from which tasks were assigned each day; we encouraged family discussions around this too. Our Wellness month proved to be great success and fantastic fun too!!

Knockskeagh Christmas Carol Karaoke

Knockskeagh Christmas Carol Karaoke

Knockskeagh Christmas Carol Karaoke

As is tradition on our final day before the Christmas holidays, all classes assembled in the school hall for our annual Christmas Carol Karaoke. This is always a very special performance and this year’s version did not disappoint.
This year our 3rd class brilliantly sang and danced ‘Dominick the Donkey’ as part of the show to great excitement by all classes.
Also as the children returned to their classes via the schoolyard, it even began to snow.
We’d like to wish all pupils, staff and their families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Enjoy the holidays.

4th Class perform for Care Choice residents

On the 19th of December 2019, our 4th class boys and girls paid Care Choice nursing home a visit and performed Christmas Carols for all residents.

Prior to the visit, the class had designed Christmas cards for each resident which they were able to hand-deliver on the day.

The class performed the carols amazingly well and should be very proud of themselves.  One resident said, “It has made my Christmas”. Thank you, 4th class, for spreading the Christmas spirit.
