1st Class Bike Day

1st Class Bike Day

1st Class Bike Day

1st Class had an enjoyable mornings exercise recently.

They brought their bikes into school and cycled through an obstacle course in our schoolyard. They also navigated our school track very well on their bikes.

Also, Bike Day plays a very important part in promoting road safety awareness in our school.

Well done everybody on a fun morning of exercise.

On the topic of bikes, this years Bike Week runs between the 19th – 27th September 2020.

Bike Week is a celebration and promotion of all that’s great about bikes and cycling. Held over an extended week each year, with bike-themed events organised by local authorities, community groups, and cycling groups throughout Ireland.

Cycling has much to offer people of every age and ability, so get on your bike and join the fun during this year’s Bike Week or anytime.

Check out bikeweek.ie for more information.

We were delighted to welcome Finny O’Regan from Clonakilty Rugby Club to Knockskeagh recently.

Finny is currently coaching tag rugby to all children from Senior Infants to 6th class.

All classes are being coached individually every Wednesday on our new courts, as well as on our sports field.

All equipment is being sanitised between classes. Thank you Finny for providing a really enjoyable, safe, and fun experience for all our pupils.

Introducing our Junior Infant class of 2020

We extend a very warm welcome to all our Junior Infant class. They’ve been busy familiarising themselves with the new rules and routines around the school and they really have shown themselves to be a super bunch.

As they take the first steps of their journey of education with us, we wish them the very best of luck and we really hope they enjoy themselves along the way.

Also, we extend a warm welcome to all parents of our Junior Infant class and we look forward to getting to know you all in the future.

Please see the gallery below for a few recent snaps of our Junior Infants working and having fun in their classroom.

Blue Star Award 2020

Blue Star Award 2020

Blue Star Award 2020

This year we attained our third Blue Star Programme award for the school.

The Blue Star Programme aims to teach primary school pupils about Europe in a fun and creative way. Pupils learn about European cultures and the EU through creative activities and projects. The idea is simple: to foster a better understanding and knowledge of Europe and how it affects the lives of Irish citizens among pupils in a curriculum friendly manner.

Congratulations to all the pupils of Knockskeagh on completing some amazing projects about all different topics related to Europe during the year.

Also well done, and thank you to Ms. Bebhinn Walsh for compiling our application for this award. smile

Virtual Sports Day 2020

Our Virtual Sports Day was a huge success going by the amazing messages, pictures, and videos that all teachers received over the past week.

Thank you to all parents for sending us some wonderful action-packed pictures and videos of sports activities and for supporting the pupils at home on Sports Day. Also, well done to all children who participated in sporting activities on the day, it looked like you had great fun. smile

What follows is a link to a Photo Story including a snapshot of some of the sporting activities that took place in the many households, gardens, parks, and beaches around our locality on the day.

Enjoy  smile
