The children once again took part in their own “Seo Gaeilge” this year. The junior classes (Junior infants to 2nd class) performed on Wednesday the 11th of March and senior classes performed on Tuesday the 10th of March. The children also took part in quiz time as Gaeilge and celebrated Gaeilge through the arts. Mar a deir siad ‘BAIN TRAIL AISTI’.
As the slogan says ‘HAVE A GO WITH GAEILGE AND SURPRISE YOURSELF’.
Also, we were delighted to welcome John Spillane back again this year for Seachtain na Gaeilge. He entertained us all with his songs and stories, and we know the children benefited from this experience.
You can see some pictures from Seachtain na Gaeilge 2020 below.

Our 2nd Class had a visit by Community Garda Liam Ryan on the 13th of December last. Garda Ryan spoke about road safety and how the class can play an important part in promoting road safety when; walking on roads and footpaths, cycling, or in vehicles.
He answered questions about the Garda kit and spoke about his daily duties. The children got a tour of the Garda van too.
The class learned about all the items carried by Garda Ryan on a daily basis such as pepper spray, the Garda vest, the baton, and handcuffs.
Thank you Garda Ryan for your very enjoyable visit. ![]()

2nd Class recently engaged in the Maths strand of Data. They explored many types of graphs including pictograms and bar graphs.
Firstly, they explored their birthday months and made a whole class pictogram.
Secondly, they investigated the variety of colours in packets of skittles and how they vary in each packet. Then, they plotted their findings in a bar graph.
They had a great few mornings of maths with a fun twist.
