Wellness activities this week aimed to create an awareness of the importance of; exercise, connection, creativity, and fun to boost your mood.
Some of the activities engaged in included, mindful moments, active breaks, morning shake-up, mindful art, orienteering, yoga, and a hot chocolate check-in.
These activities were arranged by our Wellness Committee. Well done guys and thank you to everybody who contributed to this lovely week.

Mindful Moments
Each class agreed on a time for daily meditation for the month of May. Our Amber Flag representatives remind teachers each day as school life can be busy sometimes. They’ve earned the title of “Mindful Moment Monitors” in each class. It really is nice to take time to ourselves sometimes.
Feel Good Dance
Each day, we danced during lunchtime using our two speakers. It was great fun 😊
Drop Everything and Colour (DEAC)
On Monday afternoon, we engaged in some mindful colouring in each class.
Gratitude Flower Whole School Art
Each pupil decorated a petal with things they are thankful for in their lives. Their petals formed a beautiful whole school collaborative art piece in our school. The objective was to attempt to get each pupil to focus on the good things in their lives.
Morning Shake-Up
The sixth class pupils and our Amber Flag reps directed exercise sessions with school pupils on two mornings during Wellness week.
Yoga and Zumba
All classes engaged with Yoga and Zumba in our school hall during Wellness Week. Thank you Ms. Russell and Flavia.
Hot Chocolate Check In
All pupils were treated to hot chocolate and encouraged to chat with classmates. They were encouraged to talk about positive things in their lives and to try to find out something new about their classmates.
Orienteering
All classes were challenged to find markers around the school grounds. They attempted to crack the code on each marker to reveal a hidden message.

St Patrick’s Day celebrations this year were something that we’ll certainly remember as it was a return to the in-person parade of a few years ago.
Our school took part in the parade organised by the Clonakilty Mayoral Town Council. The theme for this year’s parade was “Le chéile arís”
As part of our parade, the pupils made a huge effort with dressing up to mark the occasion, in the emerald green of St Patricks Day attire or in the Knockskeagh jersey colours.
We showcased all the wonderful activities on offer in our school and all that makes Knockskeagh so special in this year’s parade.
Well done to all pupils and staff who made this such a special day.
Our gallery displays a snapshot of pictures from our school’s display in the St Patrick Day parade in Clonakilty.

To celebrate Clonakilty playing in the County Senior Football Final in Páirc Uí Caoimh next Sunday.
We wore our club and county colours on Friday where everyone was invited to wear their Club or County colours or their favourite jersey.
There was an array of colour on display and it was great to see the positive impact that sport can have on our pupils and school community. It really was lovely to see the excitement the occasion brought to all the classes.
We wish all the best to Clonakilty in the final and in particular to our two staff members, Mr Denis Murphy & Mr Conor O’Callaghan who are on the panel as well as our past pupil Mr Shane Collins.

What a day!!
Our annual Halloween Parade took place on Friday the 22nd of October this year. All the children put in a huge effort and it was one we certainly won’t forget.
Our parade took place on our school track this year and it was fantastic entertainment. There was an abundance of creativity, colour and fun on display as each class walked a lap of the track.
Prizes were awarded to pupils with the best costumes made from recycled material. The judges had a tough job on their hands to pick award winners.
Huge credit must go to all who helped create such magnificent costumes, the standard was truly amazing. Well done to everybody!
We raised €120 for Pieta House through this fun dress-up walk around the school track this year. Thank you to all who supported this worthy cause.
We hope all pupils, parents and staff enjoy a well-earned rest during the midterm break.
Happy Halloween![]()
