Christmas Holidays

As we come to the end of the term in school, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the incredible support you have given the school over the last term.

A big thank you to our Parents Association and Board of Management for their continued help and support too.

We look forward to welcoming all staff and pupils back, refreshed and rested on Monday, 8th of January 2024.

Nollaig Shona agus athbhliain faoi mhaise daoibh go léir!

Reindeer Run

🦌Reindeer Run 🦌

🚨Our reindeer have delivered the presents🚨
Many fundamental movement skills were required to get to the end; jump, hop, duck, crawl, weave, run, catch, throw and balance to name a few.
Our “Dodge the Snowball” part proved the biggest hit (literally) 😉❄️⛄️
But, most importantly our reindeer were able to throw the presents down the chimney in the end.  All smiles and fun on our new astro turf today!!
Huge thanks to our Active School Committee and the many staff helpers who made today such a fun event.  #activeflag #activeschools

Active Break Challenge

Active Break Challenge

Active Break Challenge

All our classes have been taking part in the Active Break Challenge recently.

The goal is to promote regular Active Breaks each day over the month.

Classes have been dancing, running, and completing exercise circuits between subjects daily.

Our Active School Committee has been busy reminding our classes about the benefits of this regular movement and has been rewarding classes with stars to go toward our ‘Class of the Week’ tally.

Dare to Believe Olympic Movement Breaks

Our classes have been using the Dare to Believe Olympic Movement Breaks as part of the challenge too. These have proven to be a real hit in all our classrooms. The Olympic Movement Breaks are a series of short videos led by Olympians and High-Performance athletes demonstrating fun exercises and activities in a variety of different sports including athletics, boxing, rugby sevens, swimming, breakdancing, and para powerlifting.

Please see a short snippet of our 2nd and 3rd classes enjoying these fabulous classroom based movement videos.
