Cork Minor Footballers Visit Knockskeagh
Wednesday the 18th of September 2019 was an exciting day in our school when we welcomed members of the victorious Cork Minor Footballers to Knockskeagh. Three Members of the Minor All Ireland winning team, Dan Peet, Jack Lawton, and Ryan O’Donovan along with coach James McCarthy visited our school.
Dan Peet and James McCarthy spoke about the importance of playing sport and the benefits that it can have not only physically but in forming lasting friendships into the future.
We’d like to thank them for their visit and wish them all the best in the future.
Pictured below are sisters Raya (Juniors) and Amy Murphy (2nd Class) along with members of the Cork Minor Football Team. Amy and Raya are daughters to former Cork player Brian Murphy. In the picture, Amy is wearing her father’s jersey from the 1991 Minor Football All-Ireland final in which Cork won.
